If church is a family, then there are times when the whole family needs to come together to build relationships, learn together and have fun. Children learn by watching and listening to adults. And adults can learn by listening to and watching children’s responses, which are remarkably honest and to the point. Praise and Play offers a selection of ways to do this through all-age services and special sessions.
Alison has been helping churches to plan and lead all-age services for over 20 years. Interactive, multi-sensory and accessible, these worship sessions enable different ages to learn and worship together.
Since summer 2018 Royston Methodist Church has encouraged families from its community and toddler group to explore the Christian faith further through monthly Messy Church sessions. A selection of craft, science, games and sensory activities on the Biblical theme are followed by a short interactive worship service led by Alison (or fellow evangelist John Hardwick), with the afternoon concluding with a meal together.
